Mairo – colour delight and inspiration since 1994
Mairo is a Swedish design company that designs, produces and sells home furnishing products, mostly in the form of different textiles. Mairo was founded in Ronneby in 1994 and it is a part of the Markisol concern, a leading producer of roller blinds, roman blinds and panel blinds. Mairo today is a well-known trade mark which has attracted much attention because of its interesting and creative patterns.

Handicraft from our own textile printing plant
Mairo’s textiles are printed at our own textile printing plant Svenskt Textiltryckeri in Sölvesborg. Its activity is based on genuine and traditional handicraft that is carried out with a lot of care and feeling. The colours are weighed and mixed by hand, then poured, also manually, into the 18-metre long printing machine. Each step of the process, from light exposure to laying patterns on the printing mats, is done by hand, with perfect precision and feeling. After printing, every single metre of the printed fabric is inspected, before it is carefully rolled up and made ready for delivery.

Design which attracts attention
Mairo’s collections have attracted much attention because of the enthralling and creative designs. The keywords are variation and inspiration. With the great number of patterns in many colour combinations, Mairo offers tradition, surprising solutions and unlimited combination possibilities. The creative forces, engaged and committed to the company, combined with our own textile printing plant, raised Mairo very quickly to become a well-known trade mark within interior decoration.

Solely natural raw materials
All Mairo’s colours, from colour paste to ready colour, are water-based and environmentally friendly. Our fabrics, pure linen, half-linen and pure cotton, consist only of natural fibres. At the same time we are still looking for new and even more environmentally friendly solutions concerning technique, energy consumption, materials and colours.
